Description

ELFT (East London NHS Foundation Trust) strives to improve the quality of life of all we serve.
We work hand in hand with our service users, staff, Governors, communities and partners to continue to improve the wellbeing and health of our populations, and to reduce health inequity across East London, Bedfordshire and Luton.

We are seeking to appoint three Non-Executive Directors to our Board, supporting and challenging us as we move forward in the next phase of our development. We are keen to hear from those with strategic finance or commercial experience, clinical experience especially in primary care, experience of improving population health outcomes and inequities, digital experience, and connections to our local communities. Above all else, we are seeking inspirational, collaborative and values led people whose visions for health and social care, ambition for our Trust, and commitment to our service users, carers and staff is aligned to our own.

This is an exciting and rewarding role with the opportunity to make a real difference in reducing health inequities and improving the health and wellbeing of our communities.

Rated as ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) for the third consecutive time in January 2022, we are recognised as an exceptional organisation where people participation, co-production, staff engagement and quality improvement are at the heart of what we do. This approach has transformed the culture of the Trust and the way we work with our staff, service users and carers.

We know that the future will be different with continued service and financial pressures and an increased focus on improving value. However, against this shifting delivery context, one thing remains a constant - the Trust Board is clear that we must continue to be ambitious for our service users, staff and local populations. Our refreshed strategy will ensure that we maintain our high quality of service delivery and continues our ambition to improve the health and wellbeing, quality of care and value for the people we serve as well as the experience of our staff. This means working with them to provide safe, compassionate and recovery focused care.

We are especially excited to be developing our programme to measurably improve population health and wellbeing and by the opportunity to build upon the collaborative work that we accelerated with partners throughout our response to the pandemic. We are seeking to further integrate health and care throughout place and system level and are working with partners in local authorities, general practice, mental health, community health and acute services, across both statutory and non-statutory sectors.

We are proud that our organisation is one of the most diverse in the NHS and understand the benefits this brings to the quality of services and effective decision making, and warmly welcome applications from members of our vibrant and diverse communities as well as from seldom heard communities or underrepresented groups.
